Noordam 2013 - Day 8: The first sea day

Today is Saturday. We will be at sea the whole day, sailing from Palma de Mallorca to Marseille. The ship rocked because of the strong winds. We had ample time to get to the next port, so we sailed quite slow. We had the feeling that because of this slow speed, the ship rocked a bit more then was necessary.

The girls were still asleep when we got up. We had our breakfast in the dining room and we met four nice people from Australia. Afterwards we went to the Dancing With The Stars dance class. We love to dance and we hoped to learn some new routines. Unfortunately the Queens Lounge was packed, so we could hardly see the teachers. A lot of people dropped out during the lesson, but by then the dance class was halfway.

Our lunch was the Mariners lunch. We were seated with another Dutch couple and had a great conversation about traveling. They have seen a good part of our beautiful world.

There are lots of activities, but most of them are quite the same as on our previous cruises. The pool is very crowded, so not a good place to be. We just relaxed...

We were getting ready for formal night. The kids joined us. Of course we started with a photo session and afterwards a great dinner in the main dining room.

After dinner the girls went up to Club HAL again. We were invited to a reception for the Dutch guests, up in the Crow’s Nest. Time for some bitterballen. We met the (Dutch) Captain Robert-Jan Kan and talked with him about the ship and sailing in general.

In the Ocean Bar the HAL Cats were performing again, so we went dancing there. They did a great cha-cha-cha. Afterwards we left for the Piano Bar. We love Stryker!
